Tom Aldred

Tom Aldred

Carlisle United and Scottish under 19 defender Tom Aldred has successfully completed his move to Championship side Watford.

After consistent performances in Carlisle United's youth and reserve teams the MyFirstAgent.com star then went on to make his first team debut as a substitute against Wycombe Wanderers in December 2009. On his full debut at Brunton Park, Tom landed the man of the match award against Bristol Rovers. He also enjoyed a three month loan spell at Blue Square North side Workington which saw the 19 year old receive rave reviews for his excellent performances by Workington's manager Darren Edmondson.

On June 16th 2010 the highly-rated defender, rejected a new contract at Brunton Park, and agreed terms with the Vicarage Road outfit. The Hertfordshire club also fought off competition from Colchester United who are managed by former Carlisle United boss John Ward.

Carlisle United will receive compensation for the move due to Aldred's age but Tom will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of former Carlisle United player Danny Graham who has cemented a place in the Watford team.
